Thank you to the publisher and author for the advanced readers copy of this book.

Wow, I was so excited from drama king because I absolutely loved Homecoming King. Unfornatuately this one turned out to not be for me. I found the book pretty choppy and disjointed. Most of the chapters have a month in between them. So I really didn’t feel like I was with the characters most of the time. Mainly my issue came from communication issues. The heroine was an awful communicator. When they finally kiss and she reacts the way that she did- I realized I was sighing and rolling my eyes.

The hero, Cyrus, was super likeable and funny. I can see why Penny mentioned falling in love with him so much. If I felt like I got to know him more- by actually experiencing time with him, rather than being told about things after they happened (because of the time jumps)- then I think Cyrus would’ve hit home for me more.

Because they really didn't communicate on the page very often... or really communicate overall (he was getting most of his info about her from eavesdropping on conversations), I wasn't feeling any chemistry between them.

Overall this book wasn’t for me. But that won’t stop me from my very healthy and totally acceptable countdown excitement to read anything Penny Reid writes.
