date me like you mean it by R.s. grey

I usually read R.S. Grey’s books right when they come out. But it was 2020 and it was a super stressful year. So now, halfway through January, I finally picked up this book. If you didn’t know that her books are available on Kindle Unlimited…well then you’re welcome. And go binge!

5 out of 5 stars
3 out of 5 steam level

This book featured a few tropes: Friends to Lovers and Second Chance Romance. If you know me as well as you think you do, then you know that these are two of my least favorite tropes. Okay fine, secret baby is my least favorite. But books with these troops tend to be a miss for me. I say all of this to say, this book busted through my wall of disliked tropes and made my heart smile and root for the couple! It helps that it also featured some of my favorite tropes: fake dating, confined space and a slow burn.

The drama level deals with a lot of miscommunications…as do most second chance romances. I liked the idea that a year apart made the characters realize what it took to be together. The book featured R.S. Grey’s signature wit and the perfect amount of drama. It makes you root for them, all the while yelling into your kindle “be brave and use your voice!” Oh, do you not yell into your kindle while you read? I read this book in three sittings and each time, I was excited to get back into it.

Do yourself a favor and dive into this one! It’s a keeper!

while reading this book you should:

Listen to: If the World was Ending by JP Saxe
Do: plan an adventure to Colorado
