This is book one “The Union of Rakes” series!

I have heard great things about this book, so I snagged it to pick up at a later date. Because, let’s be real- my to be read (TBR) pile is about a mile long. And I’m a mood reader- so I never plan what I’m going to read! Anyways, after purchasing it in October, I finally read it!

The tropes featured in this book are: Friends to Lovers, Fake Dating, Makeover Transformation.

Friends to Lovers is not high on my list of likable tropes. It usually has to do with communication issues as the driving force behind the plot, and I just don’t enjoy that aspect. That proved to be the case with this book as well.

Having said that, I did read this book quickly and enjoyed it while I was reading it.

I kept thinking about a song as I was reading this book, so I’m going to recommend that to you as well! It’s an old one, but a classic. (Yes, I get to define classics that in no way stay in line with the term used by others!). The song choice: Pretty Baby by Vanesa Carlton.

What’s my ranking after all of that, you ask? Well, thank you for asking because I’ve been dying to tell you.

3.75 out of 5 stars

I think this will be an enjoyable quick read if you decide to pick it up!

happy reading,
