all folked up by penny reid (good folk #3)
Ok this book started off pretty strong for me. I was SO excited to finally get a book about Isaac! He has been in so many of the books leading up to this one and to finally get into his head… yay!
However this was a lot of words of inner monologue- between the dual pov. So we knew a lot but they actually didn’t communicate much. Very often the heroine would say- we don’t even know each other very well. And this would be true… because of the lack of word exchanges that was occuring.
I had a hard time with Isaac and his relationship with Jennifer. I don’t know why I couldn’t suspend belief that he would burn his current and NORMAL identity to start over with an alias for the rest of his life? It just didn’t work for me and I think a different choice there would’ve been better for me in regards to his future with interacting with Jennifer.
Honestly the best part about the book was Cletus. Who, let’s be honest is the best part about any book.
Overall not a bad read but I was very excited and for me, it didn’t live up to some of her other amazing books in that world.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book! the opinions and thoughts are my own!
