Love, Life and the List by Kasie West
Kasie West is an old friend, so I was really excited to read her newest book. And when i say old friend, what i mean is I've never met her or interacted with her in my life but have spent hours in the world's she creates. I actually didn't love her most recent book so i was a little nervous to read this one. So i know the suspense is killing you- what did i think? Well, thanks for asking… The beginning didn't have me, but it's Kasie West so I was pretty sure it would eventually. And then it happened i was hooked, i couldn't put it down. And then the last few chapters happened and cheeseball cheesyface made an appearance. Don't get me wrong, i am all for having more chapters after the climax so that the reader can revel in the resolution but this was too much even for me. Yes, too much for me- the hallmark channel loving, YA contemporary reading fiend. Overall I could forgive the dangerously cheesy conclusion because I loved the main character, Abby. Sarcastic, strong-willed, talented, and not a damsel in distress. I will say that I am not a fan of frelationship (friendships that are one-sided relationships) storylines. They're painful. And pathetic. And let's be honest in real life they don't work out ever! (If you are reading this you are NOT the exception, you ARE the rule!) But the joy of fiction is living a fairytale life. And in this fairytale I enjoyed not knowing if the plot twist was a happily ever after or a hope for a better tomorrow. (You'll know what I mean when you read it).Love, Life, and the List
